The Trinity Lutheran girls soccer team had its season end on Thursday after falling to Providence 5-1 in sectionals at Providence High School.

Emma Myers scored the lone goal for the Cougars.

Trinity was able to defeat Providence last year in the sectional to advance to the championship match, but the Cougars weren’t able to replicate that this season.

The Cougars had some high-scoring games this season and were able to provide the fans with some fun goals getting scored on the pitch.

Trinity will hit the ground running this off-season now after losing a solid group of senior players from this roster.

Boys soccer

Trinity Lutheran falls to Rock Creek

The Trinity boys soccer team saw its season come to a close on Wednesday with a 3-1 loss to Rock Creek.

The Cougars battled hard but didn’t have enough offensive firepower to keep its season alive.

Rock Creek is set to play in the sectional championship match at Trinity Lutheran High School against Providence on Saturday at 2 p.m. Providence beat Lanseville 3-0 and Henryville 6-1 to get to this point.

Trinity experienced some growing pains under first-year head coach Todd Jack this season, but the Cougars started putting together promising performances toward the end of the season that will serve as a good building block for seasons to come.
