A celebration to honor the late Rebecca Jo (Becky) Alexander, of Seymour, is planned for 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 25, at Glens Valley Nature Park, 8015 Bluff Rd., Indianapolis.

Becky, 69, passed away unexpectedly on January 10, 2021, at her home. She was born Nov. 9, 1951, to Edmond and Maxine Alexander, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Cynthia Kay Alexander.

Becky was originally from North Salem, In. She was a 1970 graduate of North Putnam High School. She received a bachelor degree in sociology and theology from Indiana Central College (now University of Indianapolis) and a masters in counseling from the Christian Theological Seminary.

Becky was a member of the Joy of All Who Sorrow Orthodox Church, Indianapolis, and Christ the Saviour Orthodox Church, Nashville, In.

Becky was a mental health counselor and was working for Ascension St. Vincent Jennings Senior Renewal Center, serving North Vernon, Salem and Bedford. She also worked for Christopher &Associates Counseling Center at Schneck Medical Center, Seymour. Other agencies where she had worked include New Hope, Indianapolis; Koala, Indianapolis; and Columbus Behavioral Health, Centerstone and Quinco, in Columbus and Seymour.

Survivors include two brothers,Tom (Donna) Alexander, North Salem, and Eric (Becky), Deltona, Fla.; a sister, Christina Alexander, Columbus, nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews, cousins and numerous friends.
