Patrol officers with the Seymour Police Department received information at 2:30 a.m. Tuesday that a threat of a gun being brought to Seymour High School had been made via social media.

Investigators, school administration and school resource officers were immediately notified, according to a news release from Lt. C.J. Foster with the Seymour Police Department.

The information was investigated through the morning hours, Foster said. After investigating the information, investigators, school administration and school resource officers found no credibility to the threat at the time of this news release.

Administrators said school would be conducted as normal with additional security measures.
