Volleyball

Seymour sweeps Hauser on road

The Seymour volleyball team played at Hauser on Monday night and came back with a 25-17, 25-12, 25-19 sweep.

The JV team for Seymour also won, taking the match in two sets 25-17, 25-13.

The Owls are now 15-4 on the season and will host Southport on Thursday at 6 p.m.

Trinity Lutheran sweeps Madison

The Trinity Lutheran volleyball team hosted Madison on Monday night and defeated the Cubs in three sets, 25-16, 25-14, 25-19.

The Cougars’ JV team barely lost in three sets, 20-25, 25-11, 15-14.

Trinity is now 15-4 on the season and will host Indianapolis Lutheran on Thursday at 6 p.m.

Girls soccer

Trinity falls to Scottsburg 5-2

The Trinity girls soccer team played at Scottsburg on Monday night and suffered a 5-2 defeat.

Scottsburg was up 1-0 at halftime before going up 2-0 in the second half.

Trinity’s Emma Myers scored directly off a corner kick to make it 2-1, but Scottsburg answered later in the half, making it 3-1.

Myers added another goal from a long shot from a throw in, and Scottsburg answered this one immediately making it 4-2. With time winding down, another goal by Scottsburg ended the game 5-2.

For the game, Trinity was outshot 23-18, and keeper Samantha Enzinger had 23 saves. Paige Davidson had an assist on one of Myers’ two goals.

Trinity will host Christian Academy tonight at 6 pm.

Golf

Brownstown defeats Scottsburg

Coming off a second place finish in the Mid-Southern Conference Tournament, the Brownstown girls golf team defeated Scottsburg at Hickory Hills on Monday.

The Braves won with a team score of 188 to Scottsburg’s 211.

Lexie Satterthwaite was the lead Brave with a 46, and Payton Ault and Hannah Hackman were right behind her, both shooting a 47.

Emma Hughbanks shot a 48, Gracie Reynolds 52, Kelsey Ault 55, Jayda Clodfelder 65, Abby Schroer 67 and Megan Vondielingen 68.

Brownstown will be at Bedford North Lawrence on Thursday at 4:30 p.m.

Tennis

Braves fall to Borden

The Brownstown boys tennis team traveled to Borden on Monday and suffered a 5-0 loss.

Ethan Davis lost 7-6 (10-8), 6-3 at one singles, Pierson Wheeler lost 6-1, 6-2 at two singles and Smith Hackman lost 6-1, 6-1.

At one doubles, Bryce Reaser and Connor Gwin lost 6-0, 6-1, and at two doubles, Grant Elliott and Ethan Garland lost 6-1, 6-3.

The Braves are now 6-4 on the season and will host Trinity Lutheran today at 4:30 p.m.f
