Brownstown Central Middle School sixth-graders are working on a project to help homeless families in Jackson County.

We are doing a fundraiser to raise money to give to Project Good Night along with a food and donation drive to send items to Anchor House.

Sixth grade students at the middle school will be selling Blow Pops and gum for 50 cents and conducting a food and donation drive from now to Sept. 24.

Project Good Night is a part of the READ Jackson County program. The goal is to give homeless students a duffel bag filled with a fleece blanket, socks, a stuffed animal, a journal/coloring book, markers/crayons, snacks, hygiene items and an age-appropriate book.

The money we raise from selling Blow Pops and gum, plus your donations will go toward purchasing the items for the duffel bags.

If you would like to donate money to Project Good Night, you can do so through PayPal or send a check. The PayPal email address is [email protected], and the mailing address is P.O. Box 368, Seymour, IN 47274.

Non-monetary donations we will be accepting are canned food, cereal, ready-to-eat foods, water, blankets, pillows, socks and hygiene items (deodorant, toothbrushes, toothpaste, etc.). We will collect these items and then get them to Anchor House.

There will be boxes in the middle school office to put donation items in if you would like to help. We would really appreciate it if you would join us in supporting homeless families.
