Tuesday night was senior night for the Trinity Lutheran volleyball team. The Cougars honored its three seniors after the JV match (JV won 25-9, 25-13) and before the varsity match against Oldenburg Academy.

Stella Kleffman, Kamzi Gross and Ruthie Bingham were each honored on the court. The Trinity volleyball Twitter account tweeted about its seniors, saying, “Congrats to our three irreplaceable seniors on their special night! Paving the way and setting the standard. Thank you SENIORS!”

The Cougars then went out and took care of business on the court, defeating Oldenburg 25-6, 25-11, 25-10.

Trinity is now 11-4 on the season and will play at Bedford North Lawrence on Thursday at 6 p.m.

Trinity gets a 2-1 win

Emma Myers’ unassisted goal early in the second half lifted the Trinity Lutheran girls soccer team to a 2-1 win over Greenwood Christian Academy at home Tuesday night.

Trinity took a 1-0 lead midway through the first half when Sarah Lemming scored off a through ball from Kailene Cockerham.

Greenwood tied the match on a long shot later in the first half.

“Overall I’m pleased with the effort,” Trinity coach Thom Hayes said. “I’m happy that our defense played well and we’re moving closer to getting our offensive clicking.”

Trinity goalie Samantha Enzinger had 12 saves.

Trinity will host Brown County at 5 p.m. Thursday for senior night.
