James “Jamie” LeLand Anthony

James “Jamie” Leland Anthony, age 84, a native of Dudleytown, Indiana and a resident of Crothersville, Indiana, passed from this life to Glory on Sunday, September 5, 2021 at Schneck Medical Center. He was born on July 5, 1937 to the late James Blaine Anthony and the late Mary (Derringer) Moody.

James was a member of Uniontown Baptist Church. He will forever be remembered as a kind, loving and gentle man that loved people, but didn’t put up with any “nonsense”. He loved hunting, fishing, mechanic work and loved to “tinker” and fix things. He also loved to coon hunt. Jamie was a hard working man and was a wonderful provider for his family. He loved children very much and in honor of that love, the family requests that donations be directed to the St. Jude Children’s Hospital.

He is survived by his loving wife of over 63 years, Carol (Greathouse) Anthony of Crothersville, Indiana. Those also left to cherish his memory are two sons, Michael B. Anthony and his wife Deborah of Crothersville, Indiana and Steven Ray Anthony of Crothersville, Indiana. One daughter, Teresa Ann Lawson and her husband Jim of Scottsburg, Indiana. One brother, Jerry Dean Anthony of Crothersville, Indiana and two sisters, Brenda Bradley of Crothersville, Indiana and Carol Jo Stewart and her husband Jack of Florida. Eight grandchildren, Lazarus Lawson, Amanda Peruzzato, Sabrina Anthony-Crockett, Alan Blaine Anthony, Erin Anthony, Becky Sue Bowman, Sherry Anthony and Bryan Anthony. Thirteen great grandchildren and one on the way.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Charles Anthony, Herbert Anthony and Louis Gene Anthony.

The family will receive friends on Friday, September 10, 2021 from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM at Woodlawn Family Funeral Centre. Funeral Procession will begin at 1:00 PM and conclude with a graveside service upon arrival at the cemetery with the Rev. Irvin Benge officiating. He will be laid to rest at Chestnut Ridge Cemetery.

Woodlawn Family Funeral Centre has been entrusted with the arrangements.
