Positive parenting classes announced

Purdue Extension Jackson County and the Boys and Girls Club of Seymour plan to present a positive parenting series of classes that will start Sept. 1.

“Food, Family, Money and Health” is designed to helps parents learn how to plan and serve delicious meals, save money, keep an organized home and engage with their kids, according to a news release.

All classes will be at the Boys and Girls Club of Seymour, 950 N. O’Brien St.

Participants will receive a chance to win a $100 Walmart gift card.

Refreshments will be provided.

The class schedule includes:

» 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Sept. 1: Family meals

» 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Sept. 22: Food budgeting and meal planning

» 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Oct. 6: How to track spending

» 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Oct. 27: How to set up a budget

» 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Nov. 3: “Reject” film, which is designed to raise awareness of the consequences of bullying and rejection and how to foster acceptance, inclusion and social connection

» 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Nov. 17: Time to declutter
