Crothersville releases COVID-19 guidelines for fall sports

Crothersville athletics sent out a release for its COVID-19 guidelines as the 2021 fall sports season is set to get underway.

Below is the full fan policy, signed off by superintendent Dr. Terry Goodin and athletic director Jacob Dunn:

“Crothersville Athletics will return to fans for the upcoming 2021-2022 Athletic Season. Crothersville Schools will follow all State and Jackson County guidelines when it comes to COVID infection rates in our county. The color coded reference for each level of severity of COVID infection is coded in colors: blue, yellow, orange and red. Also, please remember the most severe color coded designation stays in effect for two weeks following any change in color code.

Blue: Everyone will need to practice social distancing protocol, proper hand hygiene and use of face masks encouraged.

Yellow: Everyone will need to practice three feet social distancing protocol, use hand sanitizer frequently along with proper hand hygiene. The use of face masks required for non-vaccinated adults, face masks strongly recommended for vaccinated adults and face masks strongly recommended for all students.

Orange: Everyone will need to practice six feet social distancing protocol, use hand sanitizer frequently along with proper hand hygiene. The use of face masks required for non-vaccinated adults, face masks strongly recommended for vaccinated adults and face masks strongly recommended for all students. We will ask–not require everyone to wear a face mask.

Red: Everyone will need to practice six feet social distancing protocol, use hand sanitizer frequently along with proper hand hygiene. The use of face masks will be required for all non-participating adults and students.

Remember to get vaccinated, wear your mask in high risk indoor settings and let’s end this pandemic!”

The first home event for Crothersville be when its volleyball team hosts Orleans on Aug. 24 at 6 p.m.
