Jill Ann Roller Durham

VALLONIA

Jill Ann (Roller) Durham, age 65, entered eternal life at her home surrounded by her family on August 6, 2021. The daughter of Jack and Lois (Davis) Roller, Jill was born January 22, 1956, and grew up in Medora, Indiana. After graduating from Medora High School, she went on to graduate from Indiana State with a B.S. in Medical Technology and worked many years at Bedford Medical Center. She then decided to stay home with her family and go to Indiana University to obtain her degree in Elementary Education. She fulfilled her lifelong goal/passion by teaching 1st and 2nd grade for over 20 years.

In 1979 she married her best friend, Glenn Durham. They lived the last 42 years at their home in Vallonia next to a lake, surrounded by forests and farmland. This was earthly paradise for Jill, as she was a lover of nature, spending her free time walking the trails around her home with Glenn and their dogs, finishing each walk with a swim in the lake. She spent other time tending to her wildflowers, riding her bike and paddleboat, capturing pictures of all kinds of wildlife, relaxing on her porch, and enjoying her family and friends. Jill was also a long-time member of Medora United Methodist church, where she sang in the choir.

Jill fully lived life, always with a song in her heart and a content, positive, and grateful perspective on life.

She is survived by her husband, 3 children- Jaclyn (Kyle) Williams, Samuel Durham, and Jaylyn (Andy) Rhinehart; 5 grandchildren- Amelia, Kip, Sasha, Eleanor, and expected sister Rhinehart; sisters Andrea (Greg) McPike and Brenda (Richard) Schrader; along with her loyal dog Jesse Bugg, her devoted caretakers, and many other loving family and friends.

Preceding her in death includes her mother and father, parents-in-law Morris and Avanelle Durham, and 2 brothers Ronnie and Andrew Roller.

Funeral Services for Jill be at 12:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 11, 2021, at Medora United Methodist Church with Steve Gommel officiating. Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday, August 10th from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at Medora United Methodist Church and from 11:00 a.m. until service time Wednesday. Burial will take place at Vallonia Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to Schneck Medical Center Hospice.
