The first day of the 2021-22 school year for Seymour Community School Corp. students is Aug. 5.

Kindergarten orientation will occur July 29 at Seymour-Redding Elementary School (5:30 to 6:45 p.m.), Emerson Elementary School (last names A to K from 4 to 4:45 p.m. and L to Z from 5 to 5:45 p.m.), Seymour-Jackson Elementary School (5:30 to 6:45 p.m.), Cortland Elementary School (6 p.m.) and Margaret R. Brown Elementary School (5 to 6:30 p.m.).

All elementary schools will have open houses from 4 to 6 p.m. Aug. 3.

Also Aug. 3, the Seymour Middle School Sixth Grade Center will have its open house from 4 to 6 p.m., while Seymour Middle School will have open house for seventh- and eighth-graders from 5 to 5:45 p.m. for last names A to L and from 6 to 6:45 p.m. for M to Z.

Freshman orientation will be at 8:30 a.m. July 29 at Seymour High School, but the school will not have an open house.
