Scouts compete in district Pinewood Derby

The Muscatatuck District Pinewood Derby took place Saturday in North Vernon.

Seymour Cub Scouts were part of the action.

In the Tigers event, Bentley Manning of Seymour Cub Scout Pack 529 took top honors in the Tiger level race with a total time of 13.2993 seconds over four races and an average speed of 148.67 mph.

Zane Rossittis of Columbus Pack 555 was second, and Isaac Simmons from Columbus Pack 559 was third.

Andrew Simonton from Columbus Pack 555 was first in the Wolf Division with a total time of 13.006. Bennett Kratoska of Seymour Pack 529 was second, and Carter Stephens from Greensburg Pack 578 took third.

The Pinewood Derby is an annual fun-filled event that encourages Scouts to design, build and decorate cars they can race against each other and also in all-ages open events.
