Morton-Oathout family conducts 75th reunion

The 75th annual reunion of Andrew Morton and Flora Dell Oathout was May 15 at Honeytown Christian Church with 19 members present.

Tom Ritz gave the invocation for the pitch-in dinner.

A brief business meeting was conducted by President Tim Marshall. All officers were reinstated for 2021. They are president, Marshall; vice president, Gordon Surenkamp; and secretary/treasurer, Bobbi Garland.

A roll call — naming the branch of the family each member was from — was taken with the Walter Oathout family having five, Ralph Oathout family having four, Roland Oathout family having one and Frank Oathout family having nine.

Marriages reported were Luke and Meghan McAlister Warren and Jakeb and Morgan Webber.

Deaths reported were Christine Oathout; Bill Guinn, Nov. 13, 2019; John Oathout, June 11, 2019; and Linda Starr, June 22, 2020.

Births included Owen Michael Warren, April 29, 2021; Audey Jonathan Brenly, Sept. 22, 2019; Ansiley Jonathan Brenly, March 21, 2020; and Wyatt James Chrysler, Jan. 24, 2018.

Present were Barry and Angie Guinn J., Cathleen Surenkamp, Gordon Surenkamp, Tyson Marshall, Bobbi and Harold Garland, Herrell and Judy Acton, Tom and Barbara Ritz, Dorothy J. McDonald, Jodi Graham, Shannon Lamping, Tim and Ileda "Johnnie" Marshall and Rick and Alberta Schafstall.

Next year, the Oathout reunion and friends will be May 15 at Honeytown Christian Church. All family and friends are welcome. Plans are to visit the Jackson County History Center in Brownstown following the meeting.
