Ronelle Naomi Maurer, 85, of Brownstown, passed away peacefully, with her family by her side, on Monday, May 24, 2021 at Schneck Medical Center. She was a member of Vallonia Christian Church, Eagles, VFW, Moose Lodge, American Legion Auxiliary, and the Boat Club of Bedford. Ronelle worked as a bartender at Hi-Ho/Deuce Ann, the Elks Club, and the Bluebird in Vallonia. She retired from Osram Sylvania in 1999 after 20 years of employment. She enjoyed playing Cribbage & Rummy, working crossword puzzles, crocheting & cross-stitching, scratch off lottery tickets and most of all spending time with her family.

Ronelle was born on April 19, 1936 in Chicago, IL to the late Ronald R. Swartz & Coletta M. Schneider Muffet Swartz. She married Harvey Franklin “Old Goat” Maurer on July 18, 1953 in Evansville, IN and he preceded her in death on February 5, 2021. Other survivors include 4 children?Linda Lee (Evan) Tatlock of Seymour, Ralph Edward (Carolyn) Maurer of Seymour, Victor Ronald (Fran) Maurer of Brownstown, & Pastor Timothy Don (Julie) Maurer of Ashton, Idaho; 3 sisters, Judy (Fred) Dieckmeyer, Sandy Boofter, & Michele (Les) Norris; grandchildren, Mark (Christy) Crane, Becky (Buck) Black, Matthew Maurer, & Nicholas Maurer, great grandchildren, Ethan Crane & Emily Williams; several step grandchildren and great grandchildren; several nieces & nephews.

Ronelle was preceded in death by her parents, husband, & 3 sisters, Barbara Harlow, Coletta Clements, & Carole LaSalle

Funeral Services for Ronelle will be held at 12:00 p.m. Thursday, May 27, 2021 at Johnson

Funeral Home, Vallonia with Chris Criminger officiating. Friends may visit with the family on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until service time. Burial will take place at Vallonia Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to Vallonia Christian Church or to the American Heart Association.

The Maurer Family would like to invite anyone to a luncheon at Vallonia Christian Church after the funeral service to celebrate the lives of both Old Goat and Ronelle.
