Norma Agnes Davis, 87 of Seymour, Indiana passed away Monday, May 24, 2021 at Columbus Regional Hospital in Columbus. She was born October 8, 1933 in Petersburg, Indiana to George F. and Delma A. Beard Jerrell. She graduated from Petersburg High School, class of 1951. She married Luther E. Davis on May 5, 1951 in Petersburg, Indiana and he preceded her in death on October 16, 1984.

Norma worked for Excello Shirts from 1964 to 1974. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, where she served on the board and was on the board of the Seymour Community Health. She was a foster parent from 1990 until present, caring for over 200 children. She was an expert seamstress and enjoyed quilting, reading and wordsearch puzzles but most of all she loved being with her family.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Luther E. Davis, brothers, Rev. Arvil Jerrell and Edward Jerrell and sisters, Catherine Willis and Velma Hamm. Surviving to cherish her memory are her daughters, Cheryl (Edward) Tilford of Paris Crossing, Reita (Larry) Capes of Hayden and Lori (Ronnie) Allman of Brownstown. She is also survived by grandchildren, Joshua Tilford, Anthony Tilford, Heather (Chayce) Campbell, Fay Tilford, Winter Tilford, Stephanie (Randy) Applegate, Deidre (Ryan) Marling, Clayton Capes, Kara Winningham, Dustin (Jenna) Allman and Cody (Jenci) Allman as well as great-grandchildren, Noah Tilford, Marissa Tilford, Mason Campbell, Brantley Campbell, Amiela Campbell, Dawson Creech, Mikayla Applegate, Ethan Applegate, Lydia Applegate, Lance Bailey, Zoe Bailey, Hannah Bailey, Hunter Bailey, Danica Marling, Harlie Winningham, Corie Winningham, Ashtyn Allman, Khloe Crane, Macie Crane and Jaxton Allman.

Friends may visit with Norma’s family from 9:00 am until service time at 11 am Thursday, May 27, 2021 at the Burkholder Chapel of Thorne-George Family Funeral Homes, 419 N. Chestnut Street, Seymour, Indiana. Pastor Mike Seaney will officiate. Interment will follow at Riverview Cemetery.
