The Happy Tree Art Studio in Crothersville is on the move.
After opening in a space upstairs at Beauty from Ashes Tattoo Parlor in 2020, the studio is relocating to Crothersville Junior-Senior High School.
The move will give Crothersville Community School Corp. students access to a space where they are able to create art again. In recent years, art classes haven’t been offered at Crothersville schools.
Classes recently were announced for next month: 3 to 5 p.m. June 9, 10 a.m. to noon June 12, 3 to 5 p.m. June 16 and 3 to 5 p.m. June 23.
In the June 9 class for high-schoolers, students will explore the ways to make different mediums come together on a canvas to make one cohesive piece of art. Instructor Melissa Bean will bring some finished pieces that she has done for commissions and discuss idea generation for a blank canvas. Students should bring their own sketchbook to hash out ideas.
For questions about classes or to sign up, text Tiffany Reynolds at 248-912-5721, send a message via facebook.com/thehappytreeartstudio or email [email protected].
The community-based art studio is made possible by a grant from the Indiana Arts Commission.
