NASHVILLE
Joyce Lilian Clegg, 94, of Nashville, passed from this life on Tuesday, May 18, 2021 at 4:05 A.M. at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana.
Mrs. Clegg was born on September 19, 1926 in Fulham, England the daughter of Joseph William and Florence Louise Wood Rogers. On April 17, 1951 she married John P. Clegg.
Mrs. Clegg was a homemaker and had previously worked at the following places Fir, Fin, and Feather Pet Shop, as a receptionist at Franklin Nursing Home and at VanHeusen Outlet in Edinburgh for many years. She was a member of the Cosmopolitan Club, Gardening Club, and also served as a Foster Care parent. Mrs. Clegg enjoyed gardening and knitting and was a very devoted wife and mother.
Survivors include her sons, Derrick (Janet) Reeves of Tennessee, Stephen (Heidi) Clegg of Denmark, Bruce (Donna) Clegg of Brown County, Joseph Clegg of Seymour; grandchildren, Christopher (Kim) Clegg, George Clegg, Camilla Clegg, Samuel Clegg, Maysa Clegg; great grandchildren, Christopher Clegg, Joshua Clegg, Ellie Clegg, Luna Clegg; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John P. Clegg on May 20, 2013; and brother, Alf Rogers.
In keeping with Mrs. Clegg’s wishes cremation will take place and a memorial service will be held Wednesday, May 26, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street.
Family and friends may call for visitation at the funeral home from 10:00 A.M. until time of services at the funeral home on Wednesday.
Mrs. Clegg loved bright colors and her wishes were for everyone to wear bright colors to the services.
Inurnment will follow at Garland Brook Cemetery.
