The Jackson County Public Library is offering online programs for teens and adults in May.

Virtual programs will be posted on the library’s Facebook page with a link to the library’s YouTube channel, which can be viewed at any time. Click the "Subscribe" button on the library’s YouTube channel and the notification bell icon to stay caught up with the library’s virtual programs.

At 6 p.m. Monday, Information Services Assistant Kathi Linz will discuss raised bed gardening in Vertical Gardening.

Learn more about using the library with Virtual Tech Tuesdays. Video tutorials will be shown at 6 p.m. — learn what’s new at the library with Wowbrary on Tuesday and signing up for the summer learning program with ReadSquared on May 18.

Get a preview of available books during Friday Firsts at 10 a.m. May 14 and 28. Use the Evergreen Indiana app or call the library to place a hold on the book.

The Spilling Ink Writers’ Group will meet virtually at 2 p.m. May 22. Linz, who also is a published author, will discuss writing humor.

If county COVID-19 numbers allow, one program will be offered in person inside a tent in the library parking lot. Originally, the program was to be offered twice on separate days, but due to logistics with the tent, there will be a single program.

Adults are invited to make an apple scent diffuser at 11 a.m. May 13 in the tent. Registration is required by May 12 with a minimum of three and a maximum of eight participants. Register at myjclibrary.org/events or call 812-523-4636. In case of inclement weather, the program will become a take-and-make craft.

For teens ages 12 to 19, programs will be posted to the JCPL Teen Scene Facebook page or at jcplteenscene on Instagram.

Teens can pick up a take-and-make envelope book during May while supplies last.

Join the JCPL Teen Scene Discord server for Recommends and Respawn at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday. Recommend favorite reads and play Respawn virtually with friends.

Teen Totes are available for teens in grades 6 to 12 while supplies last. Contact [email protected] for information about the totes, which include a monthly themed surprise with a library book of choice.
