Leonard Lee Stinson, age 82, of Brownstown, passed away on Wednesday, April 21, 2021, at his residence.

Mr. Stinson was a life-time member of Brownstown United Methodist Church.

He was a factory worker at Cummins Engine Co. for 50 years, and he served in the United States Air Force. Mr. Stinson loved spending time with his family, especially his wife, Mary Ann, of more than 50 years. He also loved woodworking and working with radio-controlled cars.

Born on April 2, 1939, in Brownstown, Leonard was the son of Leonard Lee Stinson and Kathleen Nowling Gainer, both of whom preceded him in death. On November 15, 1969, in Ringgold, Georgia, he married Mary Ann Aynes and she survives in Brownstown.

Survivors include one son, Monty (Lisa Robbins) Stinson of Brownstown; two daughters, Kimberly Stinson of Indianapolis, and Melanie (Ryan) Preston of Brownstown; and five grandchildren: Fallon Stinson, Alex (Harlee) Stinson, Elix Preston, Genna Preston, and Phoebe Preston.

Besides his parents, Mr. Stinson was also preceded in death by his half-brother, Steve Stinson; and his half-sister, Donna Stinson.

Funeral services for Leonard Lee Stinson will be conducted at 12:00 noon on Tuesday, April 27, 2021, at Spurgeon Funeral Home, Inc., Brownstown, with Kay Pratt officiating. Friends may call from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 12:00 noon on Tuesday at the funeral home. Spurgeon Funeral Home, Inc. will be practicing social distancing according to CDC guidelines. Masks are required when entering the funeral home.

Interment will be at Fairview Cemetery, Brownstown.

Memorials may be given to Brownstown United Methodist Church or Schneck Medical Center Hospice.
