John Liston Sullivan, 80, hit his first “hole in one” on April 20, 2021 on the golf greens of heaven. John was born in 1940 to the late William Farrell and Elsie Louise (Snyder) Sullivan in Seymour. He was baptized and confirmed in Christ on April 11, 1954 at Immanuel Lutheran Church. John was a proud graduate of Seymour High School class of 1958, where he excelled in tennis. He also loved to drag race his 1962 Roman Red Corvette. After high school, John served his country as an M.P. in the US Army. He was a member of the Seymour Time Turners Car Club and Shadowood Golf Course. John was an Indiana-Ohio drag racing champion. He retired from Cummins Engine after 32 years of dedicated service. John was an avid sports player. He loved volleyball and handball, but his passion was for golf.

John is survived by his brothers, Farrell Jay (Janet) Sullivan and David William (Mary) Sullivan; sister, Beth Ann (Stan) (Sullivan) Demski; nieces and nephews, Lisa Sullivan, Tina Sullivan, Marti Stuckwisch, Stanley Demski, Janelle Demski, and Karen O’Brien.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and niece, Sally Jo Sullivan.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 24, 2021 at Voss & Sons Funeral Service from 9-11am.

Funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 24, 2021 at Voss & Sons Funeral Service at 11am with Pastor Ralph Blomenberg officiating.

Burial will follow at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery with full military graveside rites conducted by VFW Post 1925, American Legion Post 89, Disabled Veterans 47, Korean and Vietnam Veterans, all of Seymour.

Memorials may be written to Immanuel Lutheran Church.

Masks are required as well as social distancing within the building. Cards and notes of condolence are most welcome.
