The Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference announced its list of postseason honors Monday, and two Franklin College men’s soccer players received their first career all-conference nods.

Junior goalkeeper Elliott Clark was rewarded for his strong spring with a second-team all-HCAC award, and senior Jacob Thompson earned a spot on the league’s honorable mention team.

Clark, a Seymour High School graduate, turned in one of the best seasons by a goalkeeper in program history, finishing with a 1.21 goals-against average and an .859 save percentage, the latter number leading all qualified conference keepers. A two-time HCAC Defensive Player of the Week this spring, Clark’s 61 saves tied for the most in the league.

In his final season with the program, Thompson, a Salem High School graduate, put together a solid senior campaign that saw him net three goals and hand out one assist for seven points with 15 shot attempts, setting career highs in each category. His senior day was one to remember, as he potted two goals in the game’s final 10 minutes for a 3-1 Grizzlies win over Anderson on March 31.

Franklin finished the spring season 3-6-1, going 3-1-1 over its final five contests.
