A North Vernon man was arrested after being served a warrant.

Steven D. Singer, 37, faces charges of strangulation and domestic battery, both Level 6 felonies.

On Thursday, North Vernon Police Department Sgt. Andrew Richmond learned of the possible location of Singer and led a team of officers to his location.

At approximately 8:48 a.m., Singer was taken into custody without incident.

The warrant issued to Singer was from a domestic disturbance March 30 listing Singer as the suspect. He is currently on monitored home detention through the Madison Probation Department.

No new charges came from Singer’s arrest, and he’s being held in the Jennings County Jail in North Vernon only on the arrest warrant.

In Indiana, a Level 6 felony means six months to two and a half years in prison with an advisory sentence of one year if convicted.
