Volunteers needed to assist with COVID-19 vaccine clinic

0

The Jackson County Health Department is seeking medical and nonmedical volunteers to help administer COVID-19 vaccines.

The vaccine clinic runs from noon to 7 p.m. Tuesdays and Wednesdays and from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursdays at the health department, 801 W. Second St., Seymour.

Nonmedical volunteers help with verifying appointments, greeting patients, controlling traffic and monitoring waiting works.

Medical volunteers needed include doctors, nurses, pharmacists and medical assistants to help with vaccinating.

Volunteers will need a Zotec account, and help registering will be given if needed. A knowledge of computer programs is helpful, but training is provided. Many positions require the ability to stand or walk during their shift; however, some are seated positions. People can volunteer for the whole clinic time or part of it.
