Jackson County Public Library book discussion groups plan to gather virtually to discuss book themes, writing styles, characters and more in April.

Books are available to borrow using the online platforms Hoopla and Libby/OverDrive or at the Seymour and Crothersville libraries.

The Tuesday Night Book Club meets on the second Tuesday of each month at 7 p.m. Information Services Manager Janet Hensen will lead the review of “The Henna Artist” by Alka Joshi on April 13 in the video chat program Zoom.

The Crothersville book discussion group, which meets on the third Wednesday of each month, will share thoughts on “The Road” by Cormac McCarthy at 6 p.m. April 21 via Zoom.

Register at myjclibrary.org/events to be sent an invitation to either of these discussions. To participate, use Zoom from a computer (zoom.us) or download the free app Zoom Cloud Meetings on a phone or tablet from the app store.

An email is required for participants to receive a login to the programs. Participants who don’t have an email address should call 812-523-4636 in Seymour or 812-793-2927 in Crothersville to request the login.

The virtual book discussion group Book It! is available for teens and adults through Facebook. Join Book It! at facebook.com/groups/3085051588218685 for health tips, to share recipes or your run and discuss a book through a Facebook event on the fourth Tuesday of each month.

Information Services Assistant Hillary Pacheco will post to the group several times weekly and facilitate the online discussion of “Alice Isn’t Dead” by Joseph Fink on April 27.
