The Southern Indiana Timberjacks managed a split of two games last weekend, topping New Castle on Friday night and falling to the Pendleton Legends on Saturday night.

A nailbiter going down the stretch produced a 109-108 victory at home at Medora High School on Friday, but a day later, the Timberjacks could not keep up with the Pendleton Legends, dropping a 126-106 decision.

The Timberjacks had five players in double figures in the tight win over New Castle with guard Davion Johnson’s 23 points tops for the hosts. Trevon Bentley was right behind with 22 points.

Also coming through on the scoreboard were Markell Bradshaw with 19 points, Trenity Burdine with 18 and Tommie McCune with 12 points.

Pendleton controlled the second encounter. Kellen Dunham, a former Butler University player, led the way with 34 points.

Burdine was high man for Southern Indiana with 27 points, and Bentley added 24 points. Three other Timberjacks scored 12 points apiece — McCune, Johnson and Cameron Walker.

The Timberjacks have one game this week, Friday night in Medora, before the league’s all-star break.
