Seymour High School is offering its annual Finalizing Financial Aid and FAFSA Night from 6 to 7:30 p.m. April 1 in the SHS cafeteria.

This event is free and open to any student and their parents interested in learning more about the financial aid process for college and how to submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid.

Social distancing and masks are required. SHS students should bring their Chromebooks.

An INvestED financial aid specialist will give a presentation at 6 p.m. Afterwards, families can ask questions about the FAFSA and receive help submitting the forms.

The deadline to submit the FAFSA is April 15.

To complete the forms, students will need their:

• Social Security number
• Parent or legal guardian’s Social Security number
• Alien Registration Number (if you are not a U.S. citizen)
• 2019 income information, 2019 W-2s

Parents of dependent students and students need to obtain their own FSA ID ahead of time at fsaid.ed.gov/npas/index.htm. Parents and students will now use a username and password to access and electronically sign their FAFSA.
