Mavis Talu (Watts) Doyle, 91, of Crothersville, IN, passed away peacefully at 8:35 PM on Friday, March 12, 2021, at Schneck Medical Center. Talu was born on December 9, 1929, in Bloomington, IN, she is the daughter of Jerome Watts and Florence Katherine (Goodpasture) Watts. On April 17, 1948, in Greenwood, Indiana, she married Bige Doyle who preceded her in death on August 23, 2014. Talu attended Salem High School and was a member of First Marion Baptist Church in Commiskey, IN. She retired from Morgan’s Packing Company in Brownstown, worked as a librarian in the mid-1970’s at Crothersville Library, and volunteered for over 30 years as a “Pink Lady” which is known now as Schneck Guild at Schneck Medical Center. She enjoyed watching her birds, traveling by train out west, traveling to Europe and square dancing for over 25 years all over the world with her loving husband, and most of all she loved spending time with her family. She is survived by 1 daughter, Taleen Denise Doyle Baker of Crothersville, IN, 1 son, Bige E. (Julia) Doyle of Crothersville, IN, her grandchildren, Tallas Ashley (Derin) Cutshall of Crothersville, IN Tesia Renae Baker of Indianapolis, IN, Erica Renee Doyle of Louisville, KY, and Evan Keith Doyle of Crothersville, IN, along with 2 great-grandchildren, Teagan Riley Cutshall and Tatum Landry Cutshall both of Crothersville, IN, 3 sisters, Amaryillis Dougherty of Whiteland, IN, Dawn Jahn of Indianapolis, IN, Twanette (Earnest) Mathis of Columbus, IN. She was also preceded in death by 1 infant brother. Pastors Jeff Hood and David Schill will conduct funeral services at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, March 17, 2021, at Adams Family Funeral Home & Crematory in Crothersville with burial to follow at Crown Hill Cemetery in Salem, IN. Friends and family may visit from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Tuesday, March 16, 2021, and after 9:00 AM on Wednesday at Adams Family Funeral Home & Crematory in Crothersville. Please follow the CDC’s recommendation and guidelines while attending the visitation and the funeral service. Face masks are required per state mandate. Memorial donations may be given to Marion Baptist Church or to Schneck Guild c/o Adams Family Funeral Home & Crematory, 110 E. Howard St, Crothersville, IN 47229.
