Berton J. Briner, 90, of Crothersville, IN, passed away at 6:10 PM, on Friday, March 12, 2021, at his home. Berton was born Sunday, March 23, 1930, in Crothersville, IN. He is the son of Wilson and Lula ( Barringer), Briner. Berton was a 1948 Crothersville High School graduate and served in the United States Army. He was a member of Bethany Baptist Church. On April 14, 1956, he married Grace M. (Miller) Briner in Jeffersonville, IN and she survives in Crothersville, IN. Berton retired from Cummins Engine Company in 1976 and from Aisin as a security guard when he was 85 years old after working there for over 18 years. He enjoyed farming, woodworking, mowing, going to tractor pulls, and concerts. He loved all children and his family. Survivors include his loving wife of 64 years, Grace M. Miller of Crothersville, IN, 2 daughters, Cindy D. (Alan) Maschino of Commiskey, IN and Becky (Joe) Bozarth of Crothersville, IN, 6 grandchildren, Travis (Niki) Maschino, Dustin (Dennis Morgeson) Maschino, Matthew (Heather) Maschino, Tonya (Dan) Dye, Jason (Megan) Bozarth, Amanda (Casey) Howard, 9 great-grandchildren, Ashley, Austin, & Elizabeth Maschino, Price & Jude Bozarth, Drey & Jent Howard, Spencer & Caleb Dye, 1 sister-in-law, Lois Jean Briner. He was preceded in death by 4 siblings, Edward Briner, Curtis Briner, Ephriam Briner, & Marietta Combs. Pastor Billy Joe Deaton will conduct funeral services at 11:00 AM on Thursday, March 18, 2021, at Adams Family Funeral Home & Crematory in Crothersville with burial to follow at Cana Cemetery. Friends and family may visit from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Wednesday, March 17, 2021, and after 10:00 AM on Thursday at Adams Family Funeral Home & Crematory in Crothersville. Please follow the CDC’s recommendation and guidelines while attending the visitation and the funeral service. Face masks are required per state mandate.
