Officers with the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department continue to investigate the theft of cash, wireless headphones, video game consoles and a video game Sunday from the apartment of three members of a semipro basketball club based in Medora.

Officer Alan Jones was sent to Medora High School, 82 S. George St., to investigate the incident reported at 6:30 p.m. that day.

Three players with the Southern Indiana Timberjacks, who play their home games in the school gymnasium, said someone had taken a key to their apartment in Medora during the team’s home opener against the Pendleton Legends.

Lt. Adam Nicholson said the players told police someone would have had to enter the locker room to get the key for the apartment because there are no other keys.

He said based upon interviews with the three players and video of the incident, police had a suspect in mind.

That person is not a resident of Jackson County, but Nicholson said he is confident police will be able to make an arrest in the case.
