The Jackson County Public Library in Seymour, Crothersville and Medora will open the doors for public use Thursday with grab-and-go service after only offering curbside service since November.

Hours for the Seymour library will be 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday.

For the Crothersville branch, hours of operation will be from 2 to 6 p.m. Monday, Wednesday and Friday, while the Medora library will be open from 2 to 6 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday and from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturdays.

Outreach services staff will continue limited stops for porch drops and classroom collections.

Visitors must properly wear masks inside all facilities and are asked to limit their visit to one hour.

A limited number of public computers and circulating Chromebooks are available, and wireless internet will reach into the library parking lots for access before, during and after hours. Public computer users should bring someone with them for assistance on the computers.

On request or if mask requirements cannot be met, the Crothersville and Medora libraries will continue curbside pickup service, and the Seymour library will continue contactless drive-thru window service.

For staff and customer safety, hand sanitizing stations are provided throughout the facilities, seating is socially distanced and anyone visibly ill or coughing excessively will be asked to leave the buildings.

Through at least May, all programs are virtual on the library’s Facebook page and YouTube channel. Meeting rooms and some restrooms also will remain closed to the public. All teen and children’s activity areas will be tentatively unavailable. No food or drink is allowed.

Also, donations for the Friends of the Jackson County Public Library are not being accepted at this time.

Library cardholders are being asked to use 24/7 online services for e-books, e-audiobooks, magazines, music and movies, like OverDrive/Libby, hoopla and Kanopy.
