Katherine Benter and Sydney Jaynes, two local girls high school basketball stars, have been selected to participate in the 40th annual Hoosier Basketball Magazine 2021 Girls Top 60 Senior Workout.

The traditional event singles out high school senior girls players who have excelled. This year’s Top 60 will be held at Beech Grove High March 7.

Benter, a guard for Brownstown Central, averaged about 20 points per game this winter for the Braves. She is planning to play and study at Hanover College.

Jaynes, a center for Trinity Lutheran, also averaged about 20 points a game this winter, for the Cougars. She is planning to play and study at Butler University.

Those chosen to participate were selected from an original list of about 1,400 players.

There will be two sessions next Sunday, the first, 1-3 p.m., involving girls from Northern Indiana and Southern Indiana. The second, 3:30-5:30 p.m. involving the players from Central Indiana.

Both sessions are open to the public with ticket costs set at $8 ($5 for students).
