Mr. Paddy L. Marhanka 96 of Seymour passed away Friday, February 19, 2021 at Schneck Medical Center in Seymour.

Mr. Marhanka was born in Seymour in 1924 the son of the late Edward H. Marhanka and Dora Johnson Newman.

Mr. Marhanka was a member of the Seymour First Methodist Church. He entered the U.S. Navy where he served during WWII. Several years after the war he opened and operated Marhanka Shoe Repair Shop in Greenburg, where he retired after many years of service. He was a car enthusiast who enjoyed the buying and selling most.

On November 23, 1947 he married Miss June Moren, who still survives in Seymour after 73 years of marriage as Mrs. June Marhanka.

He will be greatly missed by his wife June, children, Larry A. Marhanka wife Faye, Margie E. Marhanka, and Darin Marhanka wife Ginny, grandchildren, Jeff AmRhein, Brian AmRhein wife Brandi, Jason Marhanka, Courtney Arias Husband Ernie, Rachel Brock Husband Pat, Jordan Marhanka, and Jessica Marhanka, and several great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents Edward H. (Pearl) Marhanka and Dora (Wayne) Newman, and brother John I Marhanka.

Family and friends may visit with a walk through viewing on Wednesday, February 24 at Voss and Sons Funeral Service after 12:30 p.m. until time of Service.

Funeral Service will be Wednesday, Voss Chapel at 1:30 p.m., with Rev. Rick Bell officiating.

Full military honors will be conducted by the V.F.W., American Legion, DAV, Korean and Vietnam Veterans all of Seymour at Riverview Cemetery.

Family request due to COVID-19 that friends give memorials in memory of Paddy Marhanka to Community Provision, Anchor house or Jackson County Community Foundation, Memo Dog Shelter instead of Flowers.

In accordance with CDC guidelines, masks are required before admittance as well as social distancing within the building. We kindly ask that there be no physical contact such as hugs or handshakes to protect staff and the family.
