Senior Cable Spall scored 20 points Saturday to top the career 1,000 mark for Crothersville, though the Tigers fell to host Henryville 76-51.

The 5-foot-11 guard now has 1,005 points for his career with three regular-season games remaining this week and at least one game in the Indiana High School Athletic Association boys sectional starting in early March.

The defeat dropped Crothersville to 3-16, and the Tigers finished last in the Southern Athletic Conference at 0-5.

Henryville (12-10, 4-1 as runner-up in the league) burst to a 23-8 first quarter lead and was ahead 43-29 at halftime.

Spall, who made 7-of-10 shots from the field, also contributed six rebounds.

“Great player and teammate,” coach Bobby Riley said of Spall.

Other Tiger scorers were center Quinten Keasler with 13 points (also six rebounds), Zach Helt with seven points, Devin Morgan and Matthew Clouse with four points each and Jacob Moeller with three points.

“We didn’t handle Henryville’s press well in the first quarter and dug ourselves a 15-point deficit,” Riley said. “We kept working, and I saw some positive things tonight. Rebounding was better, and that has been a problem for us all season. Quinten Keasler had 13 points and attacked the basket more, which is crucial to our offense. Sophomore Devin Morgan provided great minutes off the bench.”
