What made you want to become a first responder?

For me, it was a family calling. Plus, it is a very fun job that is never the same. Plus, you get to work outside.

Did you have any influences in choosing your career?

My father, Ernie Davidson, was a Seymour Police Department officer for 32 years. That had a big influence on me.

What do you like about your current position?

Currently, I work in the Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Division, so I like that I get to work in a more technical position dealing with both drivers and vehicles.

What does it mean to you to serve your community and help people?

It means the world to me to be someone that people in the community know that they can count on to be there for them.

Many people refer to first responders as heroes. Why would you consider a first responder heroic?

There are very few people that could have the mindset that when they get up daily, they know they may have to give their life to save another. That takes a true hero to make that ultimate sacrifice.

Do you have any hobbies outside of your day job?

I enjoy running, walking, camping, traveling, motorcycle riding and being with my family.
