The first of a 13-week GriefShare program is set for 2 p.m. Wednesday at Central Christian Church, 1434 W. Second St., Seymour.

The support and instruction group is open to anyone who has experienced a loss through death in their life, whether it be direct family or a close friend. The 13 sessions help with coping techniques and guidance, and the group also is there to help verbally share the path that is being walked by the individual.

You do not need to be a member of the church to attend and can join at any time during any of the sessions. A workbook for the course costs $15.

Participants will use the workbook at the sessions and at home. Social distancing will be maintained, and masks are required. This GriefShare program also be available online through Zoom.

Each GriefShare session comprises three elements: A video segment; a group discussion, where people can join in if they feel comfortable doing so; and a time of personal reflection.

Becky Brewer will facilitate the sessions, which are free.
