Bruce B McKinney Jr., 95, passed away on Saturday, January 2, 2021 at his home. He was born on August 27, 1925 in Springfield, Illinois, the son of the late Bruce B McKinney Sr. and Hazel McCory McKinney,

Mr. McKinney is survived by wife, Vivian Winkler McKinney, with whom he would have celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary on April 23, 2021. He is also survived by 6 children, Raymond E (Charlene) McKinney, Donald W McKinney, Glenda M (Larry) Wayt, Donna Joy (Dennis) Franklin, Thomas B (Seneca) McKinney, and Roger Keith (Shannon) McKinney, 16 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren and several great, great grandchildren.

Bruce was employed at Cummins Engine Company as a foreman for 32 years and he served as Pershing Township trustee for 24 years. He was a member of Houston Christian Church and belonged to Masonic Lodge #13 of Brownstown.

Bruce enjoyed playing cards and farming, but more importantly he loved spending time at family gatherings with children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one grandson, Christopher Dale Wayt, and 4 brothers James McKinney, Charles McKinney, Gerald McKinney, Dale McKinney.

Services will be conducted on Friday, January 8, 2021, at 2:00 pm at Winklepleck & Brock Funeral Home, Brownstown, Indiana. Burial will follow at Houston Cemetery. Friends and family may call at the funeral home on Thursday, January 7, 2021 from 3:00 pm until 7:00 pm and on Friday from 1:00 pm until time of service. All arrangements have been entrusted to the caring staff of Winklepleck & Brock Funeral Home in Brownstown. Due to Covid-19, we continue to follow CDC Guidelines which stipulate that face masks and social distancing are required at all times during visitations and services. In keeping with Governor Holcomb’s order, we must limit those in attendance to 25 people.
