MEDORA

Darryl Kidd, of Medora, passed away peacefully on December 10, 2020 at St. Vincent Hospital of Indianapolis. He was 67.

Darryl entered this life on June 22, 1953 in Seymour, Indiana. He was the fourth born to Ottis Kidd and Ruby ( Troxell ) Kidd Powell, and the loving brother to Tony, Larry, Sandy, and Kenny. Darryl was a graduate of Medora High School, Class of 1971. He spent his life in Medora, never travelling far from home.

He met the love of his life Cathy, and they were married at Tampico Baptist Church on July 20, 1985. With this union of 35 years they raised three boys, Joey, John and JD.

Darryl was a devoted husband, loving father, a huggable Papa, and a great card player. He was a member of Medora Methodist Church, and served on the Medora Community School board for 16 years.

He formerly worked at Kieffer Paper Mill before the plant closed, and then he went to work for Lanett where he became Team Lead over the shipping and receiving department.

He leaves those to cherish his memories, his devoted wife Cathy Kidd of Medora, two sons, Joey Kidd of Seymour, and JD Kidd of Medora, a daughter Kimberly Kidd of Martinsville, a sister Sandy Martin and her husband Warren of Columbus, two brothers, Kenny Kidd and his wife Rhonda of Sellersburg, and Tony Kidd and his companion Joann of Vallonia, and four grandchildren, Kennedy, Levi, Gunner, and Colby.

Darryl was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Larry Kidd, and a son John Kidd.

Funeral service will be held on Wednesday December 16, 2020 at 1:00 pm at Hague Funeral Home with Pastor Rob Kirtz officiating.

He will be laid to rest with his family at Russell Chapel Cemetery.

Visitation will be held at Hague Funeral Home on Wednesday December 16, 2020 from 11:00 am until time of the service.

Memorials may be written in Darryl’s name to Medora Athletic Department through Hague Funeral Home.
