The Loyal Devoir Society of Central Christian Church met Oct. 27 in the fellowship hall of the Seymour church.

President Janice Brock called the meeting to order and opened with prayer.

She gave devotions on "The Lesson of Candy Corn." The top represents the pure white of God, the orange represents the holy spirit and the yellow represents the light of Jesus Christ. It has been enjoyed for more than 130 years.

No minutes were reported. The treasurer’s report was given by Betty Guinn. She also read correspondence and thank-you notes.

Bonnie Koontz talked about sales. She is going to set up sales of Rada Cutlery online where it will be shipped directly to customers.

There will be no sales set up in the church for cards and Christmas cards. They are available by calling Koontz or Brock at the church.

It was decided to fulfill a commitment to pay for a camera and tripod for the church.

A decision not to have a Christmas party and to cancel meetings until 2021 was made. Officers and group leaders will remain the same.

It was decided to make the annual Christmas contributions to Mental Health America of Jackson County, Hoosier Christian Village and Sertoma Christmas Miracle. A motion was made by Paula Stafford and seconded by Wanda Ewing to do Christmas gift cards for the church staff.

The meeting was hosted by Group 1, led by Barb Bentley.

The meeting closed with the Mizpah Benediction.
