State reports 2,787 new COVID-19 cases Sunday

The Indiana State Department of Health announced Sunday that 2,787 additional Hoosiers have been diagnosed with COVID-19 through testing at ISDH, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and private laboratories.

That brings to 182,108 the total number of Indiana residents known to have had the novel coronavirus following corrections to the previous day’s total.

There have been 28 additional deaths from COVID-19 in Indiana since Oct. 21. This brings the number of deaths attributed to COVID-19 in Indiana to 4,124.

The results are as of 11:59 p.m. Saturday. The ISDH’s coronavirus dashboard is updated at noon daily.

A total of 1,299 Jackson County residents have tested positive for the virus, an increase of 30 from Friday’s total. This makes the seven-day positivity rate of the county 10.77%.

No new deaths were reported in the county, meaning the total deaths remains 20.

There have been 16,574 tests administered overall in Jackson County, an increase of 339 from Friday.
