The National Weather Service in Indianapolis has issued a flood watch for portions of central, south central, southeast and southwest Indiana.
That includes Jackson, Bartholomew, Decatur, Brown, Lawrence, Monroe, Jennings, Daviess, Greene, Knox and Martin counties.
The watch is in effect this evening through Thursday afternoon.
Persistent moderate to at times heavy rain is expected tonight and Thursday morning across the southern counties of central Indiana.
Rainfall totals of 2 to 3 inches with local amounts of 3 to 4 inches are possible. Flooding of roads and low-lying areas is possible, too.
