COVID-19 testing and numbers updated

The Indiana State Department of Health announced Tuesday that 2,062 additional Hoosiers have been diagnosed with COVID-19 through testing at ISDH, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and private laboratories.

That brings to 166,564 the total number of Indiana residents known to have had the novel coronavirus following corrections to the previous day’s total.

There have been 51 additional deaths from COVID-19 in Indiana since Oct. 16. This brings the total of deaths from COVID-19 in Indiana to 3,958.

A total of 1,225 Jackson County residents have tested positive for the virus, an increase of 15 from Monday’s total. This makes the seven-day positivity rate of the county 10.7%.

There have been 9,425 tests administered overall in Jackson County, an increase of 91 from Monday.

One additional death from COVID-19 has been reported in Jackson County, bringing the total deaths to 19.
