Joe (Joey) Leslie Christopher, age 66, died Wed. Oct 21, at Covered Bridge Nursing Home where he was a resident for 16 years. Joe was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. He attended the Sunshine School for special needs students. He worked at DSI where he was affiliated with workshop duties. He participated in Special Olympics winning 3 trophies in basketball and baseball. His hobbies included bicycle riding, mowing grass, and fishing at Lutheran Lake. Joe was well known for his friendliness and ability to socialize well. He was much loved by his family and all acquaintences at Covered Bridge. He leaves his mother, Norma (Christopher) Thomas and step-father, Robert H. Thomas, sister, Diane, and brother-in-law, Tony Brunovsky, and sister-in-law, Dottie Christopher. Joe leaves four nieces, their husbands, and their 9 children. Joe was preceded in death by his father, Les Christopher, and brother, Gary Christopher.

Pastor Blomenberg will conduct a private funeral service for the immediate family.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Burkholder Chapel of Thorne-George Family Funeral Homes.
