SEYMOUR

Mary Margaret Burnside, 73, of Seymour, passed away Monday, October 19, 2020 at the Covered Bridge Health Campus in Seymour.

Born October 30, 1946 in Austin Indiana, Mary Margaret was the daughter of Frank and Pearl (Young) Mize. Her Step-mother was Easter G. Cowan. She was adopted by Edward T. & Fannie Smith when she was 8 years old.

Mary Margaret met the love of her life, Rodman D. Burnside, at DSI in Seymour and they were married on December 12, 1987. He preceded her in death on August 5, 2002.

Mary Margaret was involved in the church her whole life. Singing in the choir, working in the nursery, and was a lady of great faith. She loved her Lord and Savior with all her heart.

Surviving to cherish her memory are several nieces, nephews, and many other family members along with her friends at Covered Bridge Health Campus in Seymour.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by many siblings; her adopted sister Frances Patrick; her adopted brother, Hartwell Clifton Smith; and her beloved calico cat, Cowlee.

Graveside services will be Thursday, October 22, 2020 at 11am with Pastor Steven Barrett officiating. Visitation will be from 10:30-11:00am, all at Freetown Cemetery in Freetown.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Burkholder Chapel of Thorne-George Family Funeral Homes.
