Library providing free pumpkins for program

The Jackson County Public Library will provide free pumpkins for a pumpkin decorating program for kids in kindergarten through fifth grade Oct. 31.

Participants may pick up their pumpkins and various crafting supplies, including paint and a paintbrush, starting Monday at the Seymour Library, Tuesday at the Medora Library and Oct. 28 at the Crothersville Library.

At 10 a.m. Oct. 31, a video will be posted showing Ms. Cindy from Crothersville, and at 11 a.m., Ms. Nikki will go live on Facebook to do the class for Seymour. This give people the option to watch either one of them, and they will have access to both on the library’s YouTube channel.

Medora does not have a video for this program, but they can still pick up pumpkins and decorating kits from the library.

This program and several others this fall are available due to the Jackson County Public Library receiving a $5,000 Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security Act grant from Indiana Humanities. Funding for the grants was provided by the National Endowment for the Humanities as part of the CARES Act economic stabilization plan appropriated by the U.S. Congress.
