Staff Reports

The Humane Society of Jackson County conducted its inaugural benefit auction Sept. 12.

All of the proceeds went toward assisting the shelter to meet its goals of supporting the spay and neuter programs, medical costs for shelter animals and daily food supplies.

With the help of auctioneer Paul Nay and his crew, Jeff, Rachel, Robin, Jack, Tim and Maddie, including Andy Royalty’s donation of the storage space that held many items donated by Jackson County citizens, the shelter was able to raise more than $10,300 of much-needed assistance. Jack Weir provided sanitation services.

The Humane Society of Jackson County would like to thank all of those previously named and the many people who came out and gave donations and purchased items to make this dream of Humane Society board member and community liaison Nicos Panciocco a reality.

Given the success of this auction, Panciocco is currently accepting donations for next year’s annual benefit auction. For information, contact him at 317-319-9185.
