Mrs. Nedra Ann “Nanan” Short, 81 of Seymour passed away Friday, October 2, 2020 with her daughter by her side at Schneck Medical Center.

Nedra Ann was born in Seymour, October 4, 1938, the daughter of the late Ronald “Dutch” and Christine Trisler Nolte.

She was a graduate of Paris Crossing High School and the Secretary Treasurer for the Alumni Association. She was a member of Cana United Methodist Church. On June 23, 1957, she married William C. “Bill” Short, who passed away June 17, 2000.

Nanan loved her children and especially her grandchildren as they were her pride and joy, and she tried to never miss an event they were in. She was even able to listen to her grandson Trea’s last football game this past Friday night. She always enjoyed visiting with her family and spending an evening out with her friends.

Nedra served our community for 37 years with the Park and Recreation Department of Seymour and retired as the director. After retirement she stayed active by working part time and helping out at city hall.

She will be greatly missed by her children: Barry and wife Teresa, Stacey Patman and husband Tom. Nanan will also be missed by her grandchildren: Morgan Patman, Dylan Patman, Triston Short, Trea Short and Lindsey Goshorn and husband Gregg, great grandchildren: Remy, Baylor and Gentry Goshorn, and her special neighbors.

She joins in Heaven her parents, husband Bill and past family and friends.

Family and friends may gather at Voss & Sons Funeral Service on Thursday from 5:00 p.m.until time of a life remembrance service at 7:30 p.m. Pastor Brynen Chitwood will officiate. (all are required to wear mask when entering and inside Voss & Sons Funeral Service)

In lieu of flowers, Nanan requested memorials be written to Cana United Methodist Church, American Cancer Society or Charity of Choice, in care of Voss & Sons Funeral Service.
