The Seymour Police Department is organizing its inaugural DARE Jeep Adventure Rally fundraiser for 9 a.m. Oct. 10.

The tour goes through the most scenic parts of Jackson County and should take two to three hours to complete.

The cost is $25 per Jeep.

Entrants will receive a map with ways to score points, a T-shirt and an opportunity to enjoy an off-road trail with a professional photographer onsite to take pictures.

The staging area for the event will be on city-owned property on the south end of Freeman Field.

All proceeds from the event will benefit SPD’s DARE program, which serves between 500 and 700 students per year.

Participants will have the opportunity to win a variety of prizes, including a wheel and tire package from Big O Tires for up to $2,000, a steel Jeep fire pit from Poynter Jeep, a family steak package from Darlage Custom Meats, floor mats from Fine Line Window Tinting, a light bar from Tractor Supply Co. and other donated items.

Entry forms are available in the SPD lobby, online at seymourpd.com/dare-jeep-adventure-rally or by calling the records department at 812-522-5131.

Anyone wanting to donate can call 812-522-1234 or email Officer Jeremy Helmsing at [email protected].
