Mount Nebo United Methodist Church and Hilltop Pentecostal Church are planning an old-fashioned bean dinner Sunday at Hilltop, 3357 W. County Road 390N, Brownstown.

Soup beans will be cooked by Steve Scott in a cast-iron kettle over an open fire, and that will be paired with fried potatoes, cornbread and a slab of onion on the side. Plus, there will be plenty of desserts available.

Don’t like soup beans? No problem. Homemade vegetable soup will be available.

Worship will be at 10 a.m., dinner is at noon and a program with Jim Hudson, a disc jockey at a gospel radio station in Columbus, starts at 1:30 p.m.
