The public is invited to a ceremony honoring Brownstown resident Carl Shake.

At 5 p.m. Friday at the corner of Elm and Bridge streets in Brownstown, a new street sign will be unveiled. It will honorarily name Elm Street from Bridge Street to Highview Drive as Carl Shake Drive.

In the past 50-plus years, Shake has donated an immeasurable amount of time and resources to the Brownstown community. This honor is a way to say thanks to Shake.

Shake and his family and friends will be a part of the ceremony.
