The Brownstown Public Library recently received the Library Book Grant, which is an outreach program sponsored by Lawrence County Rock Club Inc.

The club is an educational organization dedicated to the advancement and study of geology and earth science, development and study of lapidary arts and exchange of ideas, groups with similar interests and purposes.

As part of this grant, the library received 13 nonfiction titles and a complimentary membership to the organization. The collection includes material appropriate for all ages and on a broad range of subjects, including DIY geology labs for kids, rocks and rock collecting, minerals, gemstones and fossils.
